AppendIx 2: metHOdOLOGY<br />
development of the Guidance document<br />
These guidel<strong>in</strong>es were developed us<strong>in</strong>g the follow<strong>in</strong>g process:<br />
1. The IHF Project Advisory Group established an Expert Advisory Group to develop this<br />
guidance document (See appendix 1 for membership of the group).<br />
2. A narrative literature review was undertaken by the project lead (Sarah Cron<strong>in</strong>) us<strong>in</strong>g English<br />
language articles selected through a systematic search strategy (see below). Key themes were<br />
identified <strong>and</strong> presented to the Expert Advisory Group.<br />
3. Key themes were collated to <strong>in</strong>form (a) the key considerations <strong>and</strong> (b) the guidance areas by<br />
the Expert Advisory Group.<br />
4. Draft 1 was prepared for comment by the expert advisory group.<br />
5. Draft 2 was prepared for expert review <strong>and</strong> external consultation (see appendix 3 for list of<br />
submissions received).<br />
6. Feedback from external consultation to develop f<strong>in</strong>al draft. A consultation report was prepared<br />
<strong>and</strong> available on request to those who submitted.<br />
7. F<strong>in</strong>al version published.<br />
