Treatment<br />

Correct <strong>the</strong> underlying cause, including electrolyte abnormalities. For acute<br />

seizure, use lorazepam or diazepam (rectally). Treatment for chronic seizures<br />

depends on type; with absence seizures, use ethosuximide.<br />
