MAGNIFICENT MONUMENTS<br />
While in Goa visit Old Goa, one of<br />
Goa’s biggest heritage hub just nine<br />
kilometres from the capital city,<br />
Panjim. This heritage complex<br />
houses the tomb and relics of St.<br />
Francis Xavier at the Basilica of Bom<br />
Jesus. It is a part of the UNESCO<br />
World Heritage Site. The St.<br />
Cajetan’s church which stands<br />
opposite the Se Cathedral is also<br />
part of the UNESCO World Heritage<br />
Site. The Se Cathedral, the largest<br />
and the grandest church in Old<br />
Goa and Asia is a big attraction for<br />
tourists. at Old Goa. The main<br />
attraction of this church is its giant<br />
bell, sky high ceilings, massive<br />
pillars and eight chapels therein.<br />
FAMOUS FORTIFICATIONS<br />
Standing tall and strong are some<br />
historical forts in Goa which<br />
resonate the freedom struggle that<br />
led to Goa’s liberation and the<br />
valiant and heroic sacrifices of<br />
Goan freedom fighters that<br />
contributed to it.<br />
Fort Tiracol is a must visit site on<br />
the northern tip of Goa at the<br />
mouth of the Tiracol River. The 17th<br />
century fort now houses a Boutique<br />
Heritage Hotel by the Goa Tourism<br />
Development Corporation. Reis<br />
Magos Fort is located on the<br />
northern banks of River Mandovi.It is<br />
a prime tourist spot and a major<br />
heritage site. In ruins for a long<br />
time, the fort is now restored and<br />
renovated and houses caricatures by<br />
Late Mario Miranda, renowned<br />
Goan cartoonist.<br />
HAUTE HOUSES<br />
Go is a hot favourite for its<br />
Portuguese styled heritage houses<br />
in the North and South which<br />
overwhelms one’s senses through<br />
their vibrant colours and<br />
architectural designs of the old<br />
