<strong>Spice</strong>Jet won award for Best Airline<br />
At the recent India Travel Awards West, held to confer<br />
regional recognition to stars and stalwarts of the travel<br />
industry, <strong>Spice</strong>Jet received the award for Best Airline –<br />
Domestic. The lady in the trophy was specially designed<br />
and created for this honour.<br />
<strong>Spice</strong>Jet distributed 200 pairs of slippers to<br />
children in need<br />
Following a Dainik Bhaskar front-page story that detailed<br />
how students from 3200 Udaipur schools walked barefoot<br />
every day, the <strong>Spice</strong>Jet team from Udaipur contributed<br />
individually and from the fund collected on Independence Day<br />
to distribute 200 slippers. The slippers were given to children<br />
from a government school in Iswaal village, 22 km from Udaipur.<br />

<strong>Spice</strong>Jet became first airline to launch check-in using Near Field<br />
Communication and Beacon Technologies<br />
<strong>Spice</strong>Jet launched smart check-in facility using BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) and NFC<br />
(Near Field Communication) technologies under the aegis of Ashok Gajapathi Raju,<br />
Honourable Union Minister for Civil Aviation, in GMR Hyderabad International Airport.<br />
NFC enables passengers to get their boarding pass on their smartphone. Customers need<br />
to open the <strong>Spice</strong>Jet app, touch the mobile device on the NFC check-in poster at the airport<br />
and get their pass. So the customer does not need to carry any printouts or key in the PNR<br />
number. The service will soon be available in all airports supporting e-boarding facility.<br />

in Indian aviation by registering<br />
the best On-Time Performance<br />
(OTP) and highest Passenger<br />
Load Factor (PLF) among<br />
major carriers having sizeable<br />
operations in the four metros of<br />
Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad and<br />
Mumbai. OTP for the month of<br />
July <strong>2016</strong> stood at 79.2%; while<br />
the airline again topped the PLF<br />
chart registering 92% for the same<br />
period. <strong>Spice</strong>Jet has registered<br />
more than 90% PLF for 15<br />
consecutive months; the highest<br />
in each month in Indian skies. The<br />
airline also registered the lowest<br />
flight cancellation rate of 0.28%<br />
