According to tourism ministry statistics,<br />
106,754 Russian tourists visited Goa from<br />
October 2015 to May <strong>2016</strong> this year. The<br />
United Kingdom ranked second with<br />
34,549 tourists, followed by Ukraine. In<br />
all, 1.58 lakh foreign tourists arrived in<br />
Goa on short-term visits.<br />

The 25-year project, which is<br />
being undertaken in partnership<br />
with ReNew Power, will see the<br />
development of five megawatt<br />
solar power installation at the<br />
airport. Once completed, the<br />
plant will be able to generate<br />
8.4 million units of power per<br />
year and offset more than 8,000<br />
tonnes of carbon emissions<br />
annually. The airport said that the<br />
power plant will reduce its energy<br />
costs by approximately 20%.<br />
DELHI AIRPORT ENABLES FASTER CHECK-IN <br />
Passengers at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) can now access<br />
faster check-in, due to the implementation of Rockwell Collins’s new Arinc vMuse<br />
mobile passenger processing solution. IGI is the first airport to implement Arinc<br />
vMuse, facilitating airlines and ground handling agents to utilise a tablet-based<br />
application to check-in passengers from anywhere in an airport. In addition to<br />
Arinc vMuse mobile, the airport has deployed Arinc vMuse, Arinc SelfServ Kiosks,<br />
Arinc VeriPax Passenger Reconciliation System and Arinc BagLink for baggage<br />
messaging to facilitate passenger processing and reduce congestion.<br />
