THERE ARE SEVERAL misconceptions<br />

about weight loss and general fitness seen<br />

on the Internet, some of which are<br />

misleading and have harmful consequences.<br />

Here are some myth busters that will help<br />

you.<br />

MYTH: More sweat equals to more calories burnt<br />

Sweating is your body’s way of maintaining<br />

its normal temperature. How much you<br />

sweat does not correlate with the calories<br />

you expend. It is the duration and intensity<br />

of the workout that matters.<br />

MYTH: Exercising on an empty stomach<br />

burns fat<br />

On an empty stomach you are likely to<br />

exercise less intensely, decreasing the<br />

amount of calories you burn. Fruits such as<br />

banana and apple are recommended, about<br />

30 minutes prior to your workout.<br />

MYTH: Sitting long hours is fine as I<br />

exercise regularly<br />

Sitting is the new smoking thanks to<br />

desk jobs and sedentary lifestyle. Skip the<br />

elevator, take the stairs, have stretch<br />
