The City – utopia in London, sculpture-installation, 150x110x100 cm, 2013
This artist has started doing sculpture since 1995, but she has had a great interest not only in
sculpture but also in other genres of arts and carried out various experimental works. In her
recent work, she has created masks, named ‘M’ since 2012 in earnest. For her, the masks reflect
a multifaceted self. They are made
of paper boxes could be analogized
with the faces of modern people in that
papers are collected, recycled and go
through a repetitive cycle of death and
rebirth in different forms just like members
in a modern society. Especially, her
masks are related to particular places in
which she focuses on the ordinary lives
of people living there. It is certainly associated
with environment around them
and reflected them as well.
