Hardie Cobbs is a Seattle based artist who has
exhibited in galleries in San Francisco, New
York and Alabama. Her background in interior
architecture and graphic design is evident in her
work, especially in her use of space, color and
detail.
Examining patterns through concepts of evolution,
chaos & order, and human behavior is the
central theme of Hardie Cobbs’ work. By approaching
these subjects from a social anthropologist’s
point of view, she believes this process
allows us to understand deeper meanings of the
world in which we live.
She varies her use of media to suit the framework
of the project. Whether it be painting, printmaking,
photography, or drawing she is able to
explore the organization of these patterns in a
comprehensive approach. Cobbs’ intention is to
provide an intimate reflection of our surroundings
while collectively looking at the larger picture
as a whole.
