The recommendation on tendering sustainable window systems has recently<br />
been revised by the «ecological construction» association. The result was<br />
the «eco-devis», a new ecological service description. EgoKiefer window pr<strong>of</strong>iles<br />
are assessed as excellent in relation to ecology.<br />
The «eco-devis» are continuously updated; the windows<br />
classification has recently been revised. The top classification<br />
«ecologically interesting» now includes window pr<strong>of</strong>iles<br />
made <strong>of</strong> plastic, if their frames have specific thermal insulation<br />
performance features <strong>and</strong> do not contain any elements<br />
<strong>of</strong> relevance to the environment. With the new, prize-<br />
winning XL ® plastic window <strong>and</strong> the MPR 3 plastic window,<br />
EgoKiefer is represented in the top class «ecologically interesting»<br />
with two products. For wooden window frames,<br />
a stipulated insulation value must be achieved for top<br />
classification. The EgoKiefer wooden window has also be<br />
classified in the highest class in this area as «ecologically<br />
interesting». This top ecological classification once again<br />
demonstrates that EgoKiefer is also number 1 in ecological<br />
window manufacture, tackles its responsibility in relation to<br />
the environment, <strong>and</strong> also actively implements these aspects<br />
in the development <strong>of</strong> the products. «ecological construction»<br />
is an association <strong>of</strong> public authorities that provides<br />
planning tools for sustainable construction. The new planning<br />
tool called «eco-devis» was developed for tenders.<br />
Products for sustainable construction are assessed in this<br />
tool based on three decision criteria: total energy consumption<br />
in production; absence <strong>of</strong> elements relevant for the<br />
environment in the product; recycling <strong>of</strong> the construction<br />
products at the end <strong>of</strong> their use. «<br />

Since its introduction, the new, fully integrated EgoKiefer Pref-<br />
SUITE front-end system for processing <strong>of</strong>fers <strong>and</strong> orders has been<br />
successfully further developed. The system is subject to continuous<br />
development <strong>and</strong> optimisation using the product configuration<br />
tool <strong>and</strong> knowledge database. All product innovations <strong>and</strong> additions<br />
continuously flow into the knowledge database. As a result, customer<br />
needs can always be described pr<strong>of</strong>essionally with up-to-date information.<br />
