with the Forster fuego light system.
Forster Steel Technology:
shining premiere in Spain
Construmat in Barcelona is the most important trade show for construction on the Spanish
market. Together with its dealer, Comercial de Laminados S.A., Forster Steel Technology took
part in this show for the first time from May 14 to 19, 2007.
The complete product range from Forster Profile Systems in
steel and stainless steel was exhibited on the 120 m 2 stand.
The positive reaction from the visitors is an early indicator of
the likelihood of the success of Forster on this new market
for the company.
Impressive Forster reference customers
Large panels with pictures of prestigious Forster reference
projects from Valencia were integrated into the top part of
the stand, visible from some distance. The pictures of the
Alinghi Main Base and the Operà Valencia by the famous star
architect Santiago Calatrava went round the world during
the show as a result of the America’s Cup. During the show
the Forster team was surprised by a prominent visit – from
the New York-based architect’s office Pei Cobb Freed & Partners,
which has a branch office in Madrid. This architect’s
office has been commissioned to plan the skyscraper Torre
Espacio in Madrid. This and other contacts marked the start
of interesting business relationships.
Forster fuego light for the Torre Espacio
The Torre Espacio with 53 floors and a height of 223 m is the
fourth highest building in Spain. During the visit by the architect’s
office Pei Cobb Freed & Partners, various technical solutions
for around 90 fire doors were sought and discussed.
The challenge for the fire protection surrounds in this project
was the access control on the various floors and the related
anti-panic function of the doors that must also be assured
during a fire. It was possible to meet all requirements using

the Forster fuego light system in stainless steel. In the meantime,
Forster has received the order and also already delivered
the material. «
A new comprehensive product catalogue for Spain
was also announced at Construmat.
