If coating or mechanical repairs on coated parts are necessary and fast reaction
times required, STI | Hartchrom mobilises all its know-how and transfers it to
its customers, around the globe.
The STI Worldwide Repair Service is able to repair damage
and defects to treated surfaces on rolls and other, even
rotationally asymmetrical parts at customers worldwide.
By welding, plugging, local coating, specialist grinding and
re-polishing, the STI specialists help directly on site. With professional
equipment, damage is rapidly, competently and
appropriately repaired. The commercial advantages of the STI
Worldwide Repair Service such as service life extension, minimum
downtimes, reduction in assembly and transport costs
are as numerous as the applications in a very wide range of
industries: parts for engines and drives, drilling rigs and platforms,
hydraulic elements, rubber cylinders, plate cylinders,

rapid repair of parts at any time. By selectively coating
or locally electroplating (hard chromium, nickel plating, etc.),
defects in the surface finish are rectified, mechanically finished
by grinding and polishing and perfectly matched to
the surrounding area. «

STI | Hartchrom is actively involved in gaining a foothold in the construction sector: its coatings
significantly increase the serviceability of pressurised pipes on high-pressure concrete pumps
and optimise the protection against wear on hydraulic parts in construction machinery.
If heavy construction machinery is taken to a large construction site, the serviceability
of the equipment is as much a crucial commercial factor as its performance.
Downtimes can cause very high costs and delays. A repair on the construction
site is often impossible. To pump liquid concrete to the top of the highest building
in the world, powerful, hydraulically operated reciprocating pumps are used.
Theoretically, commercially available systems can reach heights of up to 750 m.
To increase the serviceability of the pressurised pump pipes during the pumping
of the abrasive liquid concrete, the surfaces are coated by STI | Hartchrom. As a
