Ankara Ready For Industry 4.0
Ankara is the most prepared city for the industry 4.0. and a nominee
to become a high technology center of Turkey, Eda Ersoy Tombakoglu,

nearly 300 thousand of university
students, 7 technopark, R &
D centers, and primarily the
defense industry, entrenched
and successful industrial
establishments.
Ankara Industrialists and
Businessmen Association (ASIAD)
has adopted the mission to make
Ankara the capital city of Turkey
the most advanced technology
base, Eda Ersoy Tombakoglu,
Chairman of ASIAD, said. She also
added the capital city is the most
prepared city for Industry 4.0.
Tombakoglu highlighted Ankara,
the capital city of Turkey has a
serious potential on the way to
be an advanced technology base
with its 18 universities, nearly 300
thousand of university students,
7 technopark, R & D centers,
primarily the defense industry,
entrenched and successful
industrial establishments.
Tombakoglu continued, “Ranging
atop by far in the middle and
high technology manufacturing
in Turkey, Ankara is the most
prepared city for the industry 4.0.
Ankara is the nominee to become
a high technology center of
Turkey.”
Informing Turkey’s historical
development of Turkey, even
though Ankara was a remarkable
highway route and a trade center,
after decided for being the capital
city of Turkey, the city recorded
its fundamental development in
the Republic period, as of today
the city has been transformed to
a metropole with its population of
5,2 million.
About industrialization of Ankara,
Tombakoglu said, “The industry
heritage of Turkey consisted of
manufacturing workshops based
on handicraft.”
Stating they would like to make
the capital city a leader in industry
and technology, Tombakoglu
continued, “Contributing the
industrialists in Ankara to produce
high value-added, increasing
its competitive power and of
course being a guide in terms
of economic, technologic, social
and cultural development of our
country is our wish and duty. In this
issue, there are very remarkable
works in this primarily Ankara
Chamber of Industry (ASO) and
the Ministry of Science Industry
and Technology as well as public
and private sector.”
The Ankara Space and Aviation
Specialization Organized Industrial
Zone which was established in
the district of Kahramankazan with
participation of Defense Industry
Undersecretariat, ASO and
Defense and Aviation Industrial
Manufacturing Association have
great importance in terms of
supporting the domestic industry,
providing synergy by bringing
together both domestic and
foreign firms, as well as producing
and exporting high value-added
products, Tombakoglu concluded.
