CYCLING AWARD FOR YOUNG
VOLUNTEERS (CAYV)
A three hour introductory workshop which highlights the
benefits of volunteering in cycling and the type of volunteering
that young leaders can get involved in. Touching on elements
of coaching, officiating and club support/management, the
workshop helps to highlight both the traditional and nontraditional
roles within cycling clubs.
The workshop can be extended to six hours and encompasses
a section of ‘Racemakers’ training; this session will develop
young leaders’ knowledge of race/event organisation and what
volunteering means at these races and events.
• Three or six hour delivery, delivered face to face with a
maximum group size of 16 to one qualified tutor.
• The framework of the qualification allows for practical should
the tutor decide to do so.
• The bulk of the delivery is interactive and candidate led which
makes for positive discussion and debate.
• All workshops will be delivered by British Cycling
Approved Tutors.
COSTING
£25 per candidate if delivered directly through school.
Workshops delivered outside of school time and linked to
cycling clubs are free of charge
