LEVEL 2 AWARD IN<br />

WEIGHT TRAINING<br />

The Level 2 Award in Weight Training is<br />

designed to allow the learner to efficiently<br />

and safely perform a range of Weight<br />

Training techniques. Learners will gain an<br />

understanding of how to check that the<br />

environment is safe to lift and provide<br />

knowledge to perform an appropriate warm<br />

up and cool down. Learners from the age of<br />

14 and above will be appropriately suited to<br />

attend the performance based qualification.<br />

The course is delivered over one full day of<br />

learning with the learners being allowed to<br />

show and ask regarding all of the major lifts.<br />

WEIGHT LIFTING<br />

SAFETY WORKSHOP<br />

The Weight Lifting Safety Workshop is<br />

designed for anyone over the age of 12, who<br />

is interested in learning more about how to use<br />

free weights. The course is designed to allow<br />

the learners to develop their skills in a gym<br />

and free weights environment, whilst teaching<br />

them how to safely perform exercises with a<br />

range of free weights. This course is completely<br />

technique based.<br />

The course is delivered over one day of<br />

learning, consisting of practical and theory<br />

demonstrations.<br />

AGES 14+<br />

LEVEL 2 AWARD IN<br />

OLYMPIC WEIGHT LIFTING<br />

The Level 2 Award in Olympic Weight Lifting<br />

is designed to allow the learner to efficiently<br />

and safely perform a range of Olympic<br />

Weightlifting techniques. Learners will gain<br />

an understanding of how to check that<br />

the environment is safe to lift and provide<br />

knowledge to perform an appropriate warm<br />

up and cool down. Learners from the age of<br />

14 and above will be appropriately suited to<br />

attend the performance based qualification.<br />

The course is delivered over a four hour<br />

learning structure.<br />

AGES 16+<br />

LEVEL 2 TECHNICAL<br />

OFFICIALS AWARD<br />

The Level 2 Award for BWL Technical Officials<br />

(Olympic Weight Lifting) is suitable for those<br />

looking to develop their skills as a technical<br />

official for competitions. Learners should<br />

be committed to their own development<br />

and looking to officiate in various roles at<br />

competitions across the UK. This course is<br />

suitable for those who are new to officiating,<br />

but who have some knowledge of the sport<br />

and would like to learn how to apply that in an<br />

officiating role.<br />

The course is delivered over a five hour<br />

learning structure.<br />
