FA JUNIOR FOOTBALL<br />

LEADERS AWARD<br />

This course provides a basic introduction to leadership<br />

skills required when involved in football.<br />

LEVEL 2 AWARD IN LEADERSHIP<br />

THROUGH FOOTBALL (QCF)<br />

The Level 2 Award in <strong>Leadership</strong> through Football<br />

(QCF) is an exciting qualification that will enable<br />

young people to develop <strong>Leadership</strong> skills through<br />

supporting the development of grass-roots football.<br />

The course will primarily introduce 4 areas:<br />

• Assisting Football Activity Sessions<br />

• An introduction to refereeing<br />

• Supporting with the running of a team<br />

• Organising Football Events<br />

6 GUIDED LEARNING HOURS<br />

The course can be delivered by:<br />

- Qualified Practicing Secondary Physical Education<br />

Specialist (QTS)<br />

or<br />

- FA Youth Award Tutor<br />

or<br />

- Holder of the CCF Level 2 and FA Youth Award<br />

Module 1 and Generic Tutor Training (GTT) or<br />

Developing the Developer (DTD)<br />

N.B. All must attend and FA course familiarisation,<br />

which are delivered by County Football Associations.<br />

COSTING<br />

Cost varies depending upon location.<br />

Cost of the course learner pack is £10.50<br />

Learners completing the qualification will be<br />

introduced to a number of leadership roles including:<br />

• Leading Football Activity Sessions<br />

• Refereeing Small-sided Games<br />

• Working with Small-sided Teams in Football<br />

• Contributing to the Organisation and Delivery of a<br />

Football Event for Young People.<br />

62 GUIDED LEARNING HOURS<br />

Delivery of the qualification will be led by individual(s)<br />

holding Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and are<br />

practicing Physical Education specialists who have<br />

undergone an appropriate (FA-led) induction into the<br />

delivery of the qualification or by licensed FA Tutors<br />

who have undergone specialist inductions specific to<br />

this qualification (further details are available in the<br />

Qualification Specification).<br />

COSTING<br />

Fees for the qualifications are available on<br />

application to 1st4sport and are charged per<br />

learner, providing registration, learner resources,<br />

external verifier visit and certification for the<br />

qualification.<br />
