WEIGHT LIFTING<br />
To provide learners with an introduction to the<br />
processes and principles of coaching Weight<br />
Lifting to adults and children. The Award<br />
offers an opportunity for those with little or<br />
no experience of coaching to be introduced<br />
to the principles of planning, delivering and<br />
evaluating coaching activities in Weight Lifting.<br />
They will be helped to understand how to<br />
effectively assist more qualified coaches,<br />
delivering aspects of coaching sessions,<br />
normally under direct supervision.<br />
The course is delivered over a 3-day learning<br />
programme. The initial first two days are<br />
designed to deliver and underpin all the<br />
learning content needed in order to make<br />
a knowledgeable and successful assistant<br />
coach. Day three consists of a practical and<br />
theory based assessment day, which allows<br />
the learners to demonstrate their in-depth<br />
knowledge and coaching skills.<br />
The course is delivered through a mixture of<br />
classroom and gym based learning.<br />

The Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Weight<br />
Lifting is for coaches who have experience of<br />
delivering independent coaching sessions<br />
to groups of people. The certificate enables<br />
coaches to independently create, deliver and<br />
evaluate a series of linked and progressive<br />
Weight Lifting coaching sessions to groups of<br />
beginner and intermediate level weight lifters.<br />
Parts of the course are made up of practical<br />
activities allowing coaches the opportunity to<br />
experience delivering and participating within<br />
coaching sessions.<br />
The course is delivered over a 3-day learning<br />
program. The course consists of a blended<br />
learning program throughout the three days,<br />
seeing regular learning and assessment<br />
taking place. This will allow the learners to<br />
develop the full theory underpinning and<br />
practical delivery in order to develop their<br />
skills to coach independently. The course is<br />
delivered through a mixture of classroom and<br />
gym based learning.<br />

WEIGHT LIFTING<br />
The Level 2 Award in Instructing Weight Lifting<br />
is suitable for those who are new to instructing<br />
but who have some knowledge of general<br />
weight lifting and would like to learn how to<br />
apply that in an instructing environment, or<br />
experienced instructors (or those working<br />
within a gym environment) looking to develop<br />
their knowledge on instructing weight lifting.<br />
The course is delivered over a two day<br />
learning programme. The first day is<br />
designed to cover all the learning content,<br />
with day two offering the learners the ability<br />
to present their skills and knowledge through<br />
a practical assessment.<br />
