Entry level detector grows
as retailer demands change

has just re-launched
its flagship entry-level

that when future production
requirements and retailer
codes of practice demands, it
can be upgraded to include the
data capture specifications in
the company’s Stealth model.
Developed for new food
manufacturers, SMEs and
companies in emerging
markets, the Phantom range
offers robust metal detection
functionality and quality
assurance in a fit-for-purpose,
reliable way. By rationalising
some of the technology
options previously available,
Phantom users pay for the
features they need to satisfy
local and international food
safety standards at a price
point that suits their budget.
Yet, by sticking to a
universal modular design
and introducing a common
membrane panel, all Fortress
customers benefit from being
able to upgrade to a Stealth
model’s level of performance
to meet the most stringent UK

Suitable for inspecting
bakery, meat, dairy,
confectionery, fresh, ambient,
chilled and frozen food,
healthcare and packaged
products including any
items with aluminium foil
packaging, the Phantom can
be installed in a conveyor,
gravity, pipeline, bulk or
laboratory configuration.
Although upgrades to
existing Phantom operating
systems are available for the
lifetime of the machine, this
is the first time Fortress has
offered customers the option
to add features from another
model in its range.
The basis for this product
rationalisation, explains Phil
Brown, md of Fortress is the
volume of food SMEs within
the European market and
more interest in food safety
from emerging economies.

Cleanrooms are a growth sector
Door range meets
cleanroom demands
for effective seals
Efaflex showcased one of
its high-speed doors at
the Cleanroom Technology
conference at the NEC in May.
“We have designed a family of
products to overcome all aspects
associated with cleanroom
environments, with the range
combining door opening speeds,
great aesthetics, quality, and
performance,” explains Darren
Turrell, the company’s UK md.
“Our smooth edged construction
minimises maintenance and
simplifies cleaning,” he says.
Certified to TܨV for use in
cleanrooms up to ISO Class 6,
they can operate up to 200,000
cycles between maintenance
intervals and open up to
2.5 metres per second.
The CR Series includes the
CRC, which has been developed
for cosmetics and pharma.
