the latest innovations in smart<br />
manufacturing, processing<br />
technology and packaging<br />

production technologies and<br />
solutions for the food and<br />
beverage, pharmaceutical,<br />
toiletries and fmcg sectors,<br />
visitors to the show will find<br />
350 ex<strong>hi</strong>bitors rep<strong>res</strong>enting<br />
1,500 equipment brands,<br />
all under one roof.<br />
“Our 30th anniversary show<br />
comes at a time when UK<br />
manufacturing is enjoying its<br />
longest period of expansion<br />
since 1968 and these positive<br />
signs will undoubtedly boost<br />
confidence throughout the<br />

Royal recognition<br />
for pallet wrapping<br />

Samuel Grant Packaging<br />
received the Queen’s Award<br />
for Enterprise for its pallet<br />
wrapping solution called<br />
the Samson Nano.<br />
To qualify for the award,<br />
the company had to prove how<br />
the packaging industry had<br />
been impacted by the solution<br />
that includes inbuilt reporting<br />
software and a special ‘price<br />
per pallet’ costing system.<br />

A brand new processing and<br />

is being developed by the<br />
PPMA as a complementary<br />
option to the printed version of<br />
its Mac<strong>hi</strong>nery Directory and<br />
the Group website.<br />
It means that from <strong>August</strong>,<br />
users will be able to search over<br />
500 processing, packaging,<br />
robotics and vision systems<br />
suppliers to answer their supplier<br />
needs more easily. Available free<br />
of charge through Google Play<br />
or on the Apple App store, t<strong>hi</strong>s<br />
unique product will make finding<br />
the required manufacturing<br />
technology a simple task.<br />
The App will allow the user to<br />
access very detailed information<br />
on a huge range of products from<br />
each and every PPMA member<br />
company and also provide direct<br />
email and web links to the chosen<br />
supplier. “T<strong>hi</strong>s makes the whole<br />
process of finding and speaking to<br />
the company of choice, a very quick<br />
and simple process,” says David<br />
Chadd, head of publis<strong>hi</strong>ng at the<br />
