I encourage you to use the Egg Discernment ritual from Chapter 6 to ask your body
if she wants to use the egg or not on your period.
On occasion my body likes to use the egg (and even have sex with it in) on my
menstrual cycle, but most of the time my body doesn’t feel up to it. Just make sure
to clean your egg really well if you choose to do so.
I notice there are different sizes available online, what size jade egg should I
use?
You may see online that there are small, medium and large sized eggs. I
recommend starting out with a medium sized jade egg as it’s the right weight and
size for beginners and advanced jade egg practicers alike. I sell the medium sized,
genuine Nephrite drilled jade egg here.
The medium egg is the best size for beginners because you may have some
numbness in your vagina, and the medium size will allow your vagina to feel the
weight of the egg without the egg being too heavy and large to hold inside of you.
It’s also normal if you don’t quite feel or notice the egg inside of you, depending on
how numb your vagina is. All the more reason to devote to a practice 3-4x per
week.
A smaller sized egg is usually only recommended for those who’ve had a more
advance jade egg practice since the smaller the egg, the less likely your vagina will
‘feel’ the egg as you go about your day or do practices.
I don’t think it’s necessary to have multiple eggs though. I’ve only been using
medium for the few years that I’ve been practicing and it’s probably all I’ll ever use!
What if my egg keeps falling out?
If your egg keeps falling out, please try not to worry or stress about it. It simply
means that your body will really benefit from using a jade egg and building up
