Public transit in Montréal is served by a<br />

network of buses, subways, and commuter<br />

trains that extend across and off the island.<br />

The subway and bus system are operated by<br />

the Société de transport de Montréal (STM).<br />

The STM bus network consists of 197<br />

daytime and 20 nighttime routes. STM bus<br />

routes serve over 1.3 million passengers on<br />

an average weekday. It also provides adapted<br />

transport and wheelchair-accessible buses.<br />
