A family-owned Milanese manufacturer turns nature’s simple
materials into luxury heirloom items.

意 大 利 的 藝 術 與 時 尚 之 都 米 蘭 , 一 個 秉 承 傳 統 工 藝 的
在 品 牌 誕 生 了 , 那 一 年 是 1929 年 ,Mauro Lorenzi 的 祖 父
Giovanni Lorenzi 創 辦 了 一 間 餐 具 和 刀 具 店 , 這 就 是 Lorenzi

說 , 他 的 祖 父 為 店 面 選 擇 了 一 個 很 旺 的 地 點 , 按 中 國 話 講 就
是 風 水 絕 佳 。「 當 時 Via Montenapoleone 只 是 一 條 普 通 的 住
宅 街 道 , 誰 也 想 不 到 這 裏 日 後 會 成 為 米 蘭 的 時 尚 中 心 。」
Giovanni Lorenzi 的 店 面 剛 開 張 , 生 意 就 很 好 , 許 多 上
流 社 會 的 紳 士 都 會 來 他 的 店 裏 購 買 一 些 物 品 。 逐 漸 的 , 原 來
僅 有 的 餐 具 、 刀 具 等 已 經 滿 足 不 了 市 場 需 求 ,Giovanni 開 始
研 發 一 些 新 產 品 , 從 袖 釦 到 旅 行 剃 鬚 工 具 包 , 再 到 煙 斗 , 所
有 追 求 高 品 質 和 精 緻 生 活 的 男 士 , 都 可 以 在 他 的 店 內 找 到 自
己 的 心 頭 所 好 。
Mauro 如 今 還 珍 藏 著 祖 父 留 給 他 的 刀 , 這 把 刀 的 刀 柄 是
骨 質 的 , 堅 固 的 刀 片 上 留 有 一 些 磨 損 的 痕 跡 , 充 滿 了 歲 月 的
滄 桑 感 , 正 如 一 位 歷 經 人 生 磨 礪 而 走 向 成 熟 的 男 人 。「 我
的 祖 父 是 我 的 人 生 導 師 , 也 是 我 生 命 中 最 重 要 的 人 之 一 。」
Mauro 動 情 地 說 道 :「 他 是 一 個 簡 單 的 人 , 對 品 質 與 優 雅 有
著 與 生 俱 來 的 敏 感 。 他 的 生 活 方 式 是 一 種 可 以 去 追 隨 的 典
範 , 真 正 啟 悟 了 我 。 他 教 我 如 何 竭 力 去 實 現 自 己 的 目 標 , 專
注 於 事 物 的 內 在 品 質 。」
自 然 的 餽 贈
當 Giovanni 將 自 己 的 手 藝 和 畢 生 經 營 的 事 業 交 到 孫 輩 手
中 時 , 他 也 將 自 己 的 精 神 留 給 了 他 們 , 這 其 中 可 能 有 老 一 輩
匠 人 們 在 工 藝 上 的 不 懈 追 求 , 有 對 品 牌 聲 望 的 無 比 珍 重 , 同
時 , 也 許 因 為 Lorenzi Milano 產 品 的 特 色 , 尊 重 自 然 也 成 為
了 Giovanni 留 下 的 精 神 傳 承 之 一 。
「 我 們 使 用 的 材 料 有 鹿 角 、 羚 羊 角 和 野 豬 牙 等 等 , 但 我
們 從 不 使 用 被 獵 殺 動 物 身 上 取 得 的 材 料 。」Mauro 說 :「 我
們 的 材 料 都 是 動 物 自 然 結 束 生 命 狀 態 下 取 得 的 , 像 是 完 成 了
一 種 生 命 的 循 環 , 我 們 的 工 匠 用 自 己 熟 練 的 手 工 讓 這 些 曾 經
鮮 活 的 生 命 , 在 某 種 程 度 上 得 到 永 生 。 它 們 的 每 一 種 紋 理 ,
每 一 種 顏 色 , 每 一 種 獨 特 的 特 征 都 是 大 自 然 獨 一 無 二 的 創
造 , 也 是 我 們 設 計 打 造 產 品 時 的 著 眼 點 。」
Lorenzi Milano 與 大 自 然 的 親 密 聯 繫 , 可 以 追 溯 至 品 牌
的 發 源 地 ,Trentino 山 脈 文 化 ,Lorenzi 家 族 的 祖 屋 依 然 留 在
那 裏 ,Mauro 儘 管 在 米 蘭 出 生 長 大 , 但 他 依 然 曾 被 送 回 到 那

Lorenzi. You need some fortune, in the sense of
“luck,” to have success and good health. “However, I think
that you must work for the fortune that you want.”
“My fortune was the fortune of my grandfather,” he says.
Mauro inherited the business his grandfather, Giovanni
Lorenzi, started in Milan in 1929.
It started out as a cutlery and knife-sharpening shop,
rooted in the family’s artisanal heritage — the Lorenzi
family originates in the Val Renda region of Northern
Italy known for its moleta, artful knife-grinders whose
ancestral skill have made them masters of their trade in
many areas of the world as they’ve emigrated.
Mauro’s grandfather chose an auspicious location for his
shop. “At that time, Via Montenapoleone was just a common
residential street, and he never even imagined that
street ... would become the centre of design and fashion
[in Milan],” Mauro says.
When Giovanni set up shop there, he had a range of
clientele, but he saw an increasing demand for gentlemen’s
luxury items. Giovanni and his descendents have worked
to expand the business accordingly. It’s now called Lorenzi
Milano, and it produces handmade luxury items — from
cufflinks, to travel shaving kits, to smoking pipes that recall
the masculine tradition of retiring to a smoking room.
One of Mauro’s most beloved keepsakes is a knife given
to him by his grandfather, whom he considers his mentor
and one of the most important people in his life. Its handle
is cream-coloured with a yellowish tinge, and its solid
blade is worn along the edges; it’s like a well-built man
whose long years of hard work add a rugged distinction to
his appearance in old age.
“[My grandfather] was a simple man that had a great
sense of accuracy and innate elegance,” Mauro says. “This
way of being was a model to be followed, a real inspiration
for me. He taught me to do the best to achieve my aims
and to focus on the quality of things.”
“He never even considered that I wouldn’t do the same
work,” Mauro says. Each generation has worked to add
to the fortune established by Giovanni, and the Lorenzis
have also had a profound respect for the fortunes provided
by nature.
