style. We gave her free reign, only asking
that the flowers be autumnal in colour
and a little unexpected.”
CEREMONY “We held it on a family
property in Hahndorf, Adelaide Hills, SA.
It was impossible not to love where our
ceremony took place – there were so
many beautiful views. Having it outside
meant our dog could be there, too!”
RECEPTION Gallery, Adelaide, SA (gallery
adelaide.com.au). “We wanted somewhere
as ‘Melbourne as possible’ – hence the
graffiti-covered laneway entry, recycled
wooden floorboards and stone walls.”
DECORATIONS “Aside from our floral
installation, the only other decorations
we had were candles on the tables. We
loved the simplicity of them and the way
that they lit up the room.”
CATERING “After the ceremony, we had
an afternoon tea with champagne and
finger sandwiches that were made by our
mums and my aunties. At the reception,
we had canapés, mains and canapé-style
desserts and cheese platters.”
CAKE “Mum made us a traditional fruit
cake, which was similar to the one she
and Dad had at their wedding. We actually
forgot about cutting it – we were far too
busy dancing! We enjoyed it the next day.”
ENTERTAINMENT “Our DJ was amazing!
We were the first ones on the dance floor
and the last to leave.”
