valid dur<strong>in</strong>g the episcopate of Laurentius Petri, <strong>and</strong><br />
the conclud<strong>in</strong>g years of the reign of K<strong>in</strong>g Gustavus<br />
I."<br />
In the fourth resolution, over <strong>and</strong> above the<br />
condemnation of the liturgy of K<strong>in</strong>g John, because<br />
it was "a stone of stumbl<strong>in</strong>g" <strong>and</strong> "similar to the<br />
Popish mass," the synod adds its rejection of the<br />
"errors of Papists, Sacramentarians, Zw<strong>in</strong>glians,<br />
Calv<strong>in</strong>ists, Anabaptists, <strong>and</strong> all other heretics."<br />
In the sixth resolution, the synod declares it to<br />
be "strictly right that persons hold<strong>in</strong>g other forms<br />
of faith than the Lutheran should not be permitted<br />
to settle <strong>in</strong> the k<strong>in</strong>gdom;" nevertheless, hav<strong>in</strong>g<br />
respect to the requirements of trade <strong>and</strong> commerce,<br />
they grant this <strong>in</strong>dulgence, but under restriction<br />
that such shall hold no public religious meet<strong>in</strong>gs <strong>in</strong><br />
their houses, nor elsewhere, nor speak<br />
disrespectfully of the national creed.<br />
