Apply biological principles for the development and implementation of
public health nutrition programs targeted at disease prevention, control, or
management.
Assess and integrate information based on nutrition needs, the study of the
scientific literature, and epidemiologic data to develop short and long range
nutritional priorities and programs that will have the greatest impact.
Incorporate principles of successful human behavior change in the
development of effective nutrition interventions.
Identify interactions between vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients and
their impact on health.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of nutrition interventions, and
modify interventional approaches as needed to improve nutritional
outcomes.
