Dr. Zimmerman is an s a Professor in the Department of Journalism and<br />
Technical Communication at CSU and Professor in the Department of<br />
Community and Behavioral Health in the Colorado School of Public Health. Dr.<br />
Zimmerman’s research interests focus on health communication, risk<br />
communication, and science communication delivered in both print and digital media and their<br />
roles in behavioral change. He began conducting usability research and evaluations in the late<br />
1980s and more recent his research has focused on <strong>website</strong> design <strong>for</strong> health <strong>website</strong>s. His<br />
expertise includes Website and Interface design; usability testing; technology transfer; science,<br />
health, technical, and professional communication; risk communication. Dr. Zimmerman has a<br />
long-term interest in in<strong>for</strong>mation seeking behaviors. His research skills include usability<br />
testing, survey methodologies, interviewing, focus groups, Delphi Technique, card sorting, and<br />
related methodologies; statistical data analysis; quasi-experimental design and experimental<br />
design; <strong>for</strong>mative and summative evaluation.<br />
