Lorann Stallones, MPH, PhD<br />

Disparities<br />

Dr. Stallones is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at CSU and in the<br />

Department of Epidemiology in the Colorado School of Public Health. She is<br />

nationally and internationally recognized as an occupational epidemiologist<br />

who has studied health issues among agricultural workers. Her research has focused on<br />

traumatic agricultural injuries, suicide among farmers, safety issues related to migrant farm<br />

workers in the US, and the relationship between pesticide exposures, mood disorders, and<br />

adverse neurobehavioral outcomes. She has published with colleagues from Costa Rica, China,<br />

Iran, New Zealand, and South Africa. She has also studied the beneficial health effects of pet<br />

ownership and is conducting research to contribute to the evidence base documenting public<br />

health benefits of mindfulness practices.<br />

Dawn Thilmany McFadden, PhD<br />

Dr. Thilmany McFadden is a Professor of Agricultural and Resource Economics<br />

and Agribusiness Extension Economist at CSU and in the Department of<br />

Community and Behavioral Health in the Colorado School of Public Health.<br />

She specializes in analyzing markets, consumer behavior and economic<br />

development related to local, organic and other value-added food market<br />

segments. Dr. Thilmany McFadden is on the leadership team of the CSU<br />

Extension Food Systems work team and Chairs the Colorado Food Systems Advisory Council.<br />

Through her work with these interdisciplinary groups, she has worked to examine the<br />

intersection of economic, resource, community development and public health issues in the<br />

food systems of the US, with a particular focus on local and regional development.<br />

Henry Thompson, PhD<br />

Concentration at ColoradoSPH at CSU: Public Health Nutrition<br />

Dr. Thompson is a Professor in the Department of Horticulture and Landscape<br />

Architecture at CSU and a Professor in the Department of Community and<br />

Behavioral Health in the Colorado School of Public Health. Dr. Thompson’s<br />

work addresses a range of interests involving human nutrition and breast<br />

cancer prevention.<br />
