Tim Amidon, PhD<br />

Concentration at ColoradoSPH at CSU: Animals, People and the<br />

Environment<br />

Dr. Amidon is an Assistant Professor in the English Department at CSU and in<br />

the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health in the Colorado School of Public<br />

Health. Dr. Amidon’s research interests include technical and professional communication,<br />

embodied and multimodal literacy, and rhetorics of class, risk, and occupational safety and<br />

health. One project that he’s currently working on—supported through NSF funding—involves<br />

per<strong>for</strong>ming user experience (UX) testing of a wearable technology that will allow firefighters to<br />

make real-time evidence-based decisions about their physiological per<strong>for</strong>mance and risk while<br />

working on fire-grounds. His work has appeared in Hybrid Pedagogy, Kairos: A Journal of<br />

Rhetoric, Technology, and Pedagogy, Proceedings of the 34th Annual International Conference on<br />

the Design of Communication, and a number of edited collections.<br />

Gary Auld, PhD<br />

Concentration at ColoradoSPH at CSU: Public Health Nutrition<br />

Dr. Auld is a Professor in the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition<br />

at CSU and in the Department of Community and Behavioral Health in the<br />

Colorado School of Public Health. Dr. Auld’s research interests include<br />

designing community and school nutrition education programs; program<br />

evaluation (quantitative and qualitative); sustainable food system issues; interventions and<br />

assessments of limited resource audiences.<br />

Susan Baker, PhD<br />

Concentration at ColoradoSPH at CSU: Public Health Nutrition<br />

Dr. Baker’s research interests are in design, implementation, and<br />

evaluation of educational programs targeting limited-resource<br />

audiences; training and staff development of paraprofessionals;<br />

breastfeeding promotion and support; and community-based<br />

nutrition education programs.<br />
