Tammy Neslund’s
transformation story
Though she was involved in athletics growing up, Tammy
Neslund never considered pursuing bodybuilding until a few
months shy of her 40th birthday. Her journey required a complete
shift in mindset and lifestyle as she previously practiced
unhealthy eating habits and had no muscle tone.
“I would starve myself and not eat all day and then eat at
night. I called myself skinny fat because I literally had no muscle,”
she says. “I remember going into the gym with a trainer
and doing dumbbell flies and my triceps were like rubber. I left
there in tears and thought from that day forward I wanted to
make some changes.”
Now, the 57-year-old is proof that it’s never too late to begin
living the life you want.
A firm believer that age is irrelevant for physical health,
Neslund prefers to measure her well-being based on how she
feels mentally, spiritually and physically.
“Our bodies are amazing in what they can achieve with
proper training and diet. Simply put, there is no magic pill or
quick fix,” she says.
A NEW ROUTINE
The former high school athlete wakes up at 4 a.m. every day
except for Sunday to break a sweat at LA Fitness. Neslund
prefers a diversified training program and implements weight
lifting, yoga, track, and even boxing with the help of a trainer.
