SURF’S UP
Pescetarians rejoice. The Grand Café at Christchurch
Casino (30 Victoria Street) has brought back its popular
dining experience – buffets with all the trimmings.
For breakfast, lunch or dinner, and brunch on the
weekends, head straight to the mouth-watering seafood
station, then dive into the fresh salads. Fellow diners
will love the carvery or grill, wide range of antipastos
and sumptuous soups. Plus, expect a broad range of
international delights that see a focus on Italian and
Asian fare. Finish with lashings of fresh cheese and
something naughty from the exceptional dessert bar.
WHO’S COOKING
Cucina (1 Tees Street) opened its doors three
years ago in Oamaru, thanks to Pablo Tacchini
and Yanina Muriel, who also own Tees Street
Café next door. Cucina specialises in pasta, which
is made from scratch every single day with strong
flavours of Argentinian-style meats and an array
of other dishes inspired by the duo’s mixed
heritage. Tuck into fresh seafood, empanadas
and finish off your meal with cinnamon churros.

3 O’CLOCK FLAVOUR SAVIOUR
Whenever we’re craving something a bit indulgent, we
love venturing to Original Foods’ own café in Wigram
(8 Stark Drive) for a C4 coffee paired with one of their
doughnuts. If you’ve yet to try the pink sprinkles, get on
it. Homer Simpson would be proud.
