Saint Joseph’s Seminary & College welcomes
qualified (undergraduate degree) lay
men and women, clergy and consecrated religious
in the Brooklyn & Queens Diocese to enrich
their knowledge of their Catholic faith by
enrolling in online classes scheduled Monday
through Thursday from 7pm to 9:30pm, beginning
August 31st for the Fall 2020 semester.

All classes are available for credit and
for audit, for matriculation and non-matriculation.
Evening classes will be delivered via Zoom
video conferencing for the Fall 2020 semester.
We offer two master’s degrees, a Master of Arts
in Theology and a Master of Arts in Catholic
Philosophical Studies.
The Master of Arts in Theology is a 39 credit
program that provides students with a graduate
level understanding of the saving mysteries of
Christian revelation in Catholic Tradition. It is
intended for those seeking a general theological
education as a foundation for their vocation
further graduate studies and research as well
as for those who seek to grow intellectually &
spiritually.
The Master of Arts in Catholic Philosophical
Studies degree is a 48 credit program that is
designed to provide students with a graduate
level understanding of philosophy in the Catholic
tradition. The program focuses on the nature
of philosophy and its significance in a Catholic
setting. A wide range of topics are covered,
from the classical foundations of philosophy
in antiquity, through the medieval age, to both
modern and postmodern challenges.
We also offer two 18 credit Post-Masters
Certificates to students who already possess
a graduate degree in theological studies or a
related field and are seeking a program of advanced
study in order to deepen one’s knowledge
of a previous competency or to undertake
a systematic study of a different theological
specialization. Post-Masters Certificates are
offered in the areas of Sacred Scripture and
Dogmatic Theology.
When not dealing with the restrictions of so-
face at the Cathedral Seminary House of Formation
in Douglaston on Monday & Wednesday
evenings for the MA in Theology courses. The
MACPS courses are offered during the day at
our Douglaston location, Monday through Friday.
Saint Joseph’s also offers graduate level
classes at Saint Joseph’s Seminary in Yonkers,
at The Seminary of the Immaculate Conception
in Huntington, and at John F. Kennedy Catholic
High School in Somers, NY.
The Diocese of Brooklyn’s Diaconate Program
provides their deacon candidates the
opportunity to fulfill their intellectual formation
requirements by taking courses offered
at our Douglaston location. Upon completion,
many qualified (undergraduate degree) deacon
candidates receive a Master of Arts in Theology
from Saint Joseph’s Seminary & College.
MA students are welcome to join the Monday
& Wednesday classes with the deacon candidates.
There are also evening & Saturday classes at
our Huntington site, and evening classes at our
es will be delivered using Zoom throughout the
Fall 2020 semester.
Tuition is $500.00 a credit; to audit is $500.00
per class. New students receive a 50% discount
on their first class, and Saint Joseph’s alumni
can audit classes at a 50% discount.
Saint Joseph’s Seminary & College is accredited
by the Middle States Commission on Higher
Education, the Association of Theological
Schools and New York State Education Department.
