It isintended for those seeking a general theologicaleducation as a foundation for their vocationfurther graduate studies and research as wellas for those who seek to grow intellectually &spiritually.The Master of Arts in Catholic PhilosophicalStudies degree is a 48 credit program that isdesigned to provide students with a graduatelevel understanding of philosophy in the Catholictradition. The program focuses on the natureof philosophy and its significance in a Catholicsetting. A wide range of topics are covered,from the classical foundations of philosophyin antiquity, through the medieval age, to bothmodern and postmodern challenges.We also offer two 18 credit Post-MastersCertificates to students who already possessa graduate degree in theological studies or arelated field and are seeking a program of advancedstudy in order to deepen one’s knowledgeof a previous competency or to undertakea systematic study of a different theologicalspecialization. Post-Masters Certificates areoffered in the areas of Sacred Scripture andDogmatic Theology.When not dealing with the restrictions of so-face at the Cathedral Seminary House of Formationin Douglaston on Monday & Wednesdayevenings for the MA in Theology courses. TheMACPS courses are offered during the day atour Douglaston location, Monday through Friday.Saint Joseph’s also offers graduate levelclasses at Saint Joseph’s Seminary in Yonkers,at The Seminary of the Immaculate Conceptionin Huntington, and at John F. Kennedy CatholicHigh School in Somers, NY.The Diocese of Brooklyn’s Diaconate Programprovides their deacon candidates theopportunity to fulfill their intellectual formationrequirements by taking courses offeredat our Douglaston location. Upon completion,many qualified (undergraduate degree) deaconcandidates receive a Master of Arts in Theologyfrom Saint Joseph’s Seminary & College.MA students are welcome to join the Monday& Wednesday classes with the deacon candidates.There are also evening & Saturday classes atour Huntington site, and evening classes at oures will be delivered using Zoom throughout theFall 2020 semester.Tuition is $500.00 a credit; to audit is $500.00per class.
