Sacred Heart Catholic Academy of Bayside
is a school rich in a tradition that incorporates
family, Catholic Values and high academic
standards. Ninety-five years ago, this Bayside
community came together with the Sisters of
Mercy to create a home for Catholic education
in Sacred Heart of Jesus parish. All who enter
the school know that we are here because of
Jesus Christ whose teachings are incorporated
into our daily lessons.
Located in a residential neighborhood,
Sacred Heart has always been known for its
strong academics and for the caring it shows
to those who enter its doors. All are welcome
to attend the school and participate in school
events. Those who have attended the school
can say the Sacred Heart Catholic Academy is
an” Extension of Their Family.”
Sacred Heart teachers inspire a love of learning
through innovative and trending practices.
Teachers are constantly attending classes and
moving forward in their education to instill a
love of learning in our students.

include a gym renovation
and the transition of the
library into a makerspace/
media center.

the cafeteria and lunch is available five days a
week for all students.
The students in our Junior High have oneto-one
Chromebook-enabled classrooms.
Their teachers are trained in the use of Google
classroom and are continually challenging
students to excel. Junior High students are
offered Spanish full-time as well as gym, art
music and TECH. All students from K-eight will
be using the Stem Lab on a regular basis. Qualifying
students in the Middle School are able
to take Algebra and Science Regents and 98%
of students attend Catholic high school or are
admitted into the more competitive public high
schools.
Our Early Childhood program consists of
nursery, two UPK 4 All classes, kindergarten
and first grade. Early morning care is free for
all and after-care is available for a fee until
6 p.m. Clubs and activities are ongoing after
school every day.
