Prof. Bharathi is currently pursuing
her Ph.D. in the area of not-forprofit
marketing. The study explores
the influence of using celebrities in
marketing a social cause. It is an interdisciplinary
study that considers the
influence of psychological influences on
communication and attitude formation.
Through her club, Consultants @ IBS, Prof.
Bharathi is currently engaged with a startup
that offers female hygiene products.
The company is working on a marketing
strategy, which would be designed by
students with the support of Prof. Bharathi.
Dr. Rao runs a program for
Recognized Guides for Ph. D
of Visvesvaraya Technological
University-Belagavi, Bharathiar
University-Coimbatore and
Rayalaseema University-Kunool.

The landscape of Global Business Communication has
changed drastically. There has has been a shift in the
paradigm where the notion of standard English has
made way to the notion of ‘World Englishes‘. This kind
of change raises various questions concerning English
as a global language especially in business management
context and its use in business and cross-cultural
communication - how can the ESL users in business
context ensure intelligibility. Through this study Dr.
Geetha Sharma hopes to understand the varied levels
of communicative competence in students and wishes
to formulate a set of ‘Can Do statements’ which may
have the potential to create better communicative
competence in the chosen group which in turn leads to
leveraged reduction of any potential gaps.
