The two years at IBS-B were a challenge in
learning to adapt to a new place altogether
but I was able to manage it with the help of
great faculty members who nurtured me.
The continuous learning that was imparted
made me realise that there is no age limit
to learning. The placement process was the
most crucial part of the course as it was a one
continuous grind.
Opportunities do arrive at one’s doorstep
but one need to make oneself capable of
fulfilling it. Softskills played an important role
for me in landing a good offer. Hence, I would
advise everyone to work on it. If one makes
the effort, a good placement is a guarantee,
and one can definitely walk out of the
campus with a smile on their face. Overall my
experience at IBS Bangalore was a good one.
Thank you for nurturing me.
It has been over a decade since I passed out
of IBS but I can still recall the good old days
which gave me two great years of learning and
friends whom I cherish and still share great
bonds with. I started my career in 2010 with a
Leadership Training Organization and moved
on as Lead Strategic HR for PCI. After 6 years
in HR I moved to a business role leading Seller
University for Amazon India for over 5 lakh
sellers. I currently lead Growth Enablement
function for WeWork India.
At IBS I found a blend of knowledge backed
with brilliant faculties and great industry
exposure. Learning happened through case
studies, group exercises with a perfect mix
of the use of theories and exposure through
live projects and interactions with some of
the best industry professionals and alumni.
Summer internships and live projects helped
us put theories into practice and see the
magic happen with all that we learnt. I hardly
remember a time when we were not busy as we
had a bunch of co-curricular and extracurricular
activities throughout the year. The intra and
inter college fest helped us get closer to reality
once we stepped in to our corporate journey.
The campus was our second home - working,
learning, preparing, completing assignments,
eating together, having fun - all became a part
of our life and there was never a dull moment
when we were at the campus. Our batch was
one of the largest with 500+ students from
different walks of life from across the country
which also provided us exposure to people
from different cultures, different cities and
helped us build amazing relationships and a
great network which still holds strong across
industries worldwide today.
