2008 against 22.608,1 GWH in 2007 recording
a 6.2 % increase.
The consumption of petroleum products
reached 8.962 million tonnes in 2007, a rise of
11.2 %.
The investments made in the energy sector
passed from 10 billion DH in 2007 to 17billion
DH in 2008.

occurred at the level of base metal prices
starting from the second half of 2008 and
the slowdown of phosphates world demand
occurred in the third quarter of the year following
the worsening of the world financial crisis.
Thus, despite the drop in mining exports volume
in 2008, the sales have more than doubled,
rising from 34 billion DH in 2007 to more than
77 billion DH in 2008. The sales of phosphates
and their by-products accounted for 78 % of
this turnover.
