COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY & INFORMATION SYSTEM<br />

The Information System Master Plan (ISMP)<br />

worked out in collaboration with an international<br />

consultant over a five-year period was finalized<br />

in 2007.<br />

Computer projects are grouped into a folio<br />

of thematic programs and are conducted<br />

according to an IS governance mode, and in<br />

accordance with the provisions of the operation<br />

charter governing the relations b<strong>et</strong>ween the<br />

implied parties.<br />

<strong>Mines</strong> and Oil<br />

After a d<strong>et</strong>ailed survey of p<strong>et</strong>roleum exploration<br />

needs in information system, the GIS project<br />

development was launched. The other projects<br />

of the core business launched as part of the<br />

Information System Master Plan aim at securing<br />

and organizing the heritage of data generated<br />

by mining and p<strong>et</strong>roleum works and following<br />

the life cycle of various data and documents.<br />

The challenge behind these projects is to master<br />

the heritage of data and documents by using<br />

the latest information technology by optimizing<br />

costs and guaranteeing the security, viability<br />

and availability of the documentary resources.<br />

Finance logistics<br />

In this field, structuring projects of ISMP such<br />

as the restructuring and analytical accountancy,<br />

the implementation of integrated management<br />

software and the project management mode<br />

have been launched. The main objectives s<strong>et</strong><br />

by the three projects are the following :<br />

• Support the evolution of the organization ;<br />

<strong>Office</strong> <strong>National</strong> <strong>des</strong> <strong>Hydrocarbures</strong> <strong>et</strong> <strong>des</strong> <strong>Mines</strong><br />

• Encourage the s<strong>et</strong>ting up and development<br />

of project management concept, s<strong>et</strong> up as<br />

a new operation mode for the conduct of<br />

mining and p<strong>et</strong>roleum projects<br />

• Encourage the eligibility of the <strong>Office</strong> to the<br />

State control.<br />

Human resources<br />

As far as human resources are concerned, two<br />

main IS projects have been conducted :<br />

• Consolidation of the human resources<br />

information system ;<br />

• Implementation of attendance time<br />

management system. The system is<br />

operational and the associated project is in<br />

the conclusion stage.<br />

Common means<br />

As for management of the documentary<br />

heritage, the service offer has been modernized<br />

with the use of the intran<strong>et</strong> for the publication of<br />

several documentary products.<br />

Infrastructure<br />

Infrastructure projects are conducted to<br />

accompany the needs of IS projects with<br />

regard to equipment, n<strong>et</strong>work infrastructure<br />

and storage, to ensure the security of data by<br />

putting the latest information technology means<br />

at the service of oil and mining exploration.<br />

Thus, the needs of web site projects, integrated<br />

management software, the intran<strong>et</strong>, GIS Oil and<br />

GIS Mine have been integrated and launched.
