scheduled the drilling of two exploration wells
OZW-1 and OZW-2. Preparations for the drilling
platform of OZW-1 well are underway. The first
well will be drilled in early 2009 in an effort to
test the Jurassic objectives, in the Western
Prerif basin ; simultaneously, a new ADD-HR
campaign of 605 measure stations coupled
with an additional geochemical survey, aimed at
exploring other potential zones in these permits,
is underway.
Asilah permits (TransAlantic / Direct /
Anschutz / Longe)
Towards the end of 2008, these partners
acquired a new 2D seismics coverage totaling
200.5 km. The processing of these data is
underway.
Gharb Centre and Gharb Sud permits (Cabre)
Exploration works in the region included the
acquisition and processing of 210 km of
new 2D seismics aimed at highlighting new
anomalies and specifying some gas prospects.
Fès permit (Cabre)
As part of its commitments over this permit,
Cabre Company started, on 26 September
16
Office National des Hydrocarbures et des Mines
2008, the drilling of FES-1 well. As of December
31, 2008, the drilling has reached a depth of
2 807 m at the level of a Miocene series. Gas
shows have been encountered at the level of
this Tertiary sequence. The drilling will continue,
in 2009, to reach the expected final depth of
3 800 m.
Moulay Bousselham permit (Heyco)
A postmortem survey on MED-1 well was
completed and enabled to direct exploration
works towards gas targets, at the level of post
nappe Tertiary. In this regard, ONHYM and
Heyco undertook new negotiations aimed at
defining a minimum work program over this
permit.
Sebou permit (Circle Oil)
Circle Oil acquired at the beginning of 2008 an
additional 3D seismics of 90 sq km covering
Sebou permit by 145 sq km of 3D seismic
data. Likewise, the company conducted a
2D seismic survey of 57 km on the same
permit. The interpretation of 3D seismics led
to the identification of more than 80 potential
anomalies.
The first wells ONZ-6 and CGD-9, drilled
between, 26 September and 19 October
and between 4 and 24 November 2008,
respectively, enabled to show modest biogenic
gas accumulations. The recoverable reserves
are under evaluation by long-term tests.
The platform of the third well KSR-8, scheduled
in 2008, was prepared but the bad weather
conditions postponed the start of the drilling
until January 2009. Preparations of platforms of
the three other wells were launched.
