Day 1: Fly to St Petersburg<br />
Take a morning flight from London (regional<br />
connections available) to St Petersburg with<br />
Areoflot. Transfer to the Ambassador Hotel<br />
(or similar) for 3 nights. Welcome dinner. (D)<br />
Day 2: St Petersburg • Pushkin<br />
Tour St Petersburg this morning, including<br />
Nevsky Prospekt and Vasilievsky Island. In the<br />
afternoon, visit Catherine Palace at Pushkin,<br />
including the renowned Amber Room. (B)<br />
Day 3: St Petersburg<br />
Explore the world’s largest museum, the<br />
Hermitage. Founded by Catherine the Great<br />
and the former residence of the tsars, it houses<br />
an unrivalled collection of European and<br />
Catherine Palace, Pushkin<br />
Russian masterpieces. This afternoon, there is<br />
an optional tour of the Fabergé Museum. (B)<br />
Day 4: St Petersburg • Moscow<br />
Spend your morning at leisure, or take an<br />
optional visit to Peterhof to view the exterior<br />
and gardens of Peter the Great’s Summer<br />
Palace. Board a late-afternoon train to<br />
Moscow. On arrival, transfer to the Park Inn<br />
Sadu (or similar) for 3 nights. (B)<br />
Day 5: Moscow<br />
Tour Moscow, including the magnificent Red<br />
Square, home of St Basil’s Cathedral, the<br />
Moscow State University and Novodevichy<br />
Convent. Your afternoon is at leisure. (B)<br />
Day 6: Moscow<br />
This morning, visit the Kremlin, including<br />
Cathedral Square and the Armoury Museum<br />
with its collection of imperial crowns and<br />
carriages. Next, you have the option of visiting<br />
the Arbat quarter, followed by a tour of<br />
Moscow's palatial metro stations, which are<br />
adorned with marble and chandeliers. Enjoy a<br />
farewell dinner in the evening. (B, D)<br />
Day 7: Fly to London<br />
Your morning is at leisure. This afternoon,<br />
transfer to the airport and fly to London. (B)<br />
