Spotlight on
Athens & Evia
Duration • 7 days & 6 nights
Category • Luxury
Spotlight tour • From £1,395 (incl. flights)
Tour overview
Evia is Greece's second largest island
after Crete, but remains largely off
the tourist map – despite being just a
stone's throw from Athens. It is home
to uncrowded beaches, historic towns
and charming wineries. This new
centre-based tour reveals the best of
the unspoilt island, as well as giving you
a day to explore Athens and its ancient
wonders. Throughout your journey,
enjoy unique experiences, such as a
Greek coffee masterclass. The tour also
features ample downtime to spend in
luxury at your five-star beachfront hotel.
Day 1: Fly to Athens
Take a morning flight from London (regional
connections available) to Athens with
Aegean Air. Transfer to Negroponte Resort for
the duration of the tour. Welcome dinner. (D)
Day 2: Tour of Chalkida
Enjoy a morning guided walking tour of
Chalkida, the main town on the island,
including the historic old town, the 19thcentury
Red House and the Town Hall. Spend
some free time amidst the charming cafes and
restaurants of the waterfront before returning
to the hotel. (B, D)
Day 3: Sailing in the Strait of Evia
After transferring to the port, board a sailing
boat for a day of cruising on the Strait of Evia –
Snacks and drinks are served on board. (B, D)
Day 4: Day at leisure
Spend a free day enjoying the facilities
of the Negroponte Resort or discovering
more of the area, perhaps by visiting the
Archaeological Museum of Eretria or the
mainland’s Amphiaraion Archaeological Site.
Evia is also famous for hiking due to its rugged,
mountainous interior; guides for day hiking can
be arranged locally. (B, D)
Day 5: Wine tour, tasting & lunch
Evia is among the nation’s various winegrowing
regions, and today is your chance to sample
some of the celebrated local produce. During
your visit to a nearby winery, taste three wines
before helping to prepare traditional meze
dishes for your lunch. (B, L, D)
Day 6: Athens
During a full-day excursion to the Greek capital
– one of the world’s most historic cities – visit the
Parthenon and Museum, Panathenaic Stadium
and the temple of Athena Nike. Afterwards,
The Parthenon, Athens
enjoy a short class in preparing the perfect Greek
coffee at a local coffee shop, followed by time at
leisure. Return to Evia early evening. (B, D)
Day 7: Fly to London
Transfer back to Athens airport and fly to
London. (B)
Meal basis: As per itinerary – B: Breakfast,
