Day 1: Fly to Johannesburg
Fly overnight from London (regional
connections available) to Johannesburg. (N)
Day 2: Johannesburg
After arrival, you are introduced to the city of
Pretoria with a guided tour, followed by lunch
at a local restaurant. Transfer to your hotel for
the rest of the day at leisure. Later, attend your
welcome dinner. Overnight at Radisson Red
Rosebank (or similar). (L, D)
Day 3: Johannesburg
The life of South Africa’s most famous politician
takes centre stage today. Led by an expert
guide, discover places that shaped Nelson
Mandela’s life on a tour through Alexandra
township, Liliesleaf Farm and Soweto. The rest
of your day is at leisure. Overnight at Radisson
Red Rosebank (or similar). (B, L)
Day 4: Hazyview
Transfer to the town of Hazyview, a popular
gateway for Kruger National Park. Spend the
rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at
Perry‘s Bridge Hollow (or similar). (B, L, D)
Days 5 & 6 : Kruger National Park
Spend the next two days enjoying a variety of
morning and afternoon safari activities in the
world-famous Kruger National Park. As you
seek out the ‘Big Five’, learn about their natural
habitats as well as the conservation efforts
protecting them. Overnight at Perry‘s Bridge
Hollow (or similar). (B, L, D)
Day 7: Swaziland
Transfer overland to Swaziland, clearing border
formalities en route, and arrive at Ezulwini
Valley (‘Place of Heaven’). Its attractions include
restaurants, hot springs, craft markets, art
galleries, riding stables, a nature reserve, a golf
course and a cultural village. The rest of your
day is at leisure. Overnight at Mantenga Lodge

Day 8: Mkuze, ZuluLand
Continue through Swaziland, stopping enroute
at the Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary and
a traditional village. After completing border
formalities, cross into South Africa, where
you enjoy a safari drive in the uMkhuze Game
Reserve, and a South African barbecue (braai)
with Zulu entertainment. Overnight at Ghost
Mountain Inn. (B, L, D)
Day 9: Mkuze, ZuluLand
Meet your guide for an early morning safari
drive in Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park, one of South
Africa’s oldest reserves. Enjoy lunch at your
hotel ahead of a special cultural experience,
which includes a visit to a local homestead.

Day 10: KwaZulu-Natal’s historic battlefields
Enjoy a cruise on Lake Jozini before travelling
to KwaZulu-Natal’s famous battlefields, which
you will begin exploring tomorrow. Overnight
at Rorke’s Drift Hotel. (B, L, D)
Day 11: KwaZulu-Natal’s historic battlefields
Spend the day with a specialist battlefield
guide as you visit the staging grounds of two
important Anglo-Zulu battles. Overnight at
Rorke’s Drift Hotel. (B, L, D)
Day 12: Port Elizabeth via Durban
Transfer to King Shaka Airport in Durban for
your indirect flight to Port Elizabeth via O. R.
