Notes: <strong>The</strong> letters by <strong>Alfred</strong> <strong>Russel</strong> <strong>Wallace</strong> were removed from<br />

general correspondence initially listed with ref <strong>WP</strong>1/19 including<br />

those in subject files labelled in WGW's? hand, almost certainly<br />

selected by or for James Marchant for use in writing ''<strong>Alfred</strong><br />

<strong>Russel</strong> <strong>Wallace</strong> - Letters and Reminiscences'' ( London 1916). <strong>The</strong><br />

letters by Arabella Buckley were removed from a brown<br />

cardboard box in the form of a book, titled ''Letters'' on spine,<br />

containing various apparently unrelated letters and other papers<br />

(old ref <strong>WP</strong>2/1).<br />

play billiards; primula japonicus; reaction of kitten to new<br />

surroundings; asks for a letter from Violet.<br />
