showing a wooded or grassy bluff with a distant flat-topped cliff or<br />

mesa in the background and grassy hilltop and pyramid-shaped rock<br />

in the foreground. A man wearing a cap is just visible near the rock<br />

to the viewer's right. This is a closer view of part of the scene shown<br />

in the photograph of ''upper lake'' (<strong>WP</strong>17/8/7). An outline sketch of<br />

the scene is in pencil on the back with features marked in <strong>Alfred</strong><br />

<strong>Russel</strong> <strong>Wallace</strong>'s? hand ''Erratic'' | ''Moraine'' | ''up Lake'' | ''Dam'' |<br />

''between Upper & Lower Lough Bray co. Wicklow.'' Undated.<br />

unknown hand as that on the photos of corrugated basalt at<br />

Siebengebrige and others in <strong>WP</strong>17/8 ''Glacier garden Lucerne.''<br />
