foliage
Sepia photographic print, undated, approximately 10 cm x 8 cm,
apparently a photograph of another photograph hanging or lying on
a darker surface, showing a large area of fallen or cut logs (or
petrified forest?) without foliage, with rolling lightly wooded hills in
the background. Annotated on the back in pencil in an unknown
hand ''15''. Part of a small paper sticker is attached to the top right
corner of the print. Photographer unknown.

Undated. Possibly c. 1893, when Alfred Russel Wallace was writing
on glaciation (See WP1/2/39, letter to Violet Wallace 8 October

smooth rock surface which slopes towards the viewer. There are
mountains in the background on the left and rock surface sloping up
