scavenger hunt forFather’s Day in the<br />
<strong>Ashburton</strong> Domain.<br />
Thehuntisdesignedfor families of all<br />
ages, and will includechallenges<br />
revolvedaround making memoriesand<br />
spendingtimetogether.<br />

Scavenger hunt cards will be handed<br />
outtoanyonewho buys areal fruit ice<br />
creamfrom Little Honey Co’s ice cream<br />
truck‘The Hive’, which will be parked at<br />
the<strong>Ashburton</strong> Domain layby over the<br />
weekend of September 3and 4.<br />
‘‘The scavenger hunts will be amixture<br />
of things to find,questions to askDad or<br />
aloved one, photo challenges, and other<br />
funactivities,’’ said Reagan.<br />
‘‘It’s designed so everyone canenjoy it<br />
young and old.Head around the domain<br />
andget closer to nature.’’<br />

Reagan said he likes seeingpeople<br />
spending timetogether outdoors and off<br />
their phones, which was part of the<br />
motivation for setting up theFather’s<br />
Dayscavenger hunt. ‘‘It’s good to just<br />
walk and talk.<br />

‘‘We’ll be there from 1pm to 5pm, even<br />
if it’s raining,’’ Reagan said. ‘‘It all adds<br />
to the adventure.’’<br />

Search suspended for missing woman<br />
Thesearchfor missing Methvenwoman<br />
Gaynor Fleet has been suspended.<br />
Gaynorwas last seen on the morning of<br />
<strong>August</strong> 3and an extensive search<br />
operation hasbeen carriedout since<br />
then.<br />
Thankstoinformation received from<br />
membersofthe public, Gaynor’s car was<br />
locatednear the beach in <strong>Ashburton</strong> on<br />
<strong>August</strong> 5.<br />
Searchand Rescue teams from<br />
Methven, Rakaia, and Ellesmerewere<br />
involved in trying to locate Gaynor, but<br />
were unsuccessful.<br />
Police constable Emma Milburn said<br />
search teams had worked tirelessly to<br />
find Gaynor and bring herhome to her<br />
family.<br />
“Sadlywehave nowcompleted<br />
searchesofall reasonably possible areas<br />
whereGaynorcould be, withoutlocating<br />
her.”<br />
“We have spoken to Gaynor’s family,<br />
and while they areunderstandablyvery<br />
distressed thatGaynor has not yet been<br />
found, theyare incredibly grateful for the<br />
support they havereceived since Gaynor<br />
went missing.”<br />
Arelative of Gaynor shared updates<br />
with the community via Facebook,<br />
writing ‘‘Methven andRakaia Search and<br />
Rescue put an incredible effort into<br />
looking for her on land,but unfortunately<br />
it is looking like sheended upinthe<br />
waterand it's very unlikely that we will<br />
find her.’’<br />
They said ‘‘She wasanincredible lady,<br />
Mum,Grandma, Great Grandma and<br />
friend to many around Canterbury. We<br />
will miss her so much,our hearts are<br />
broken that she left us this way, we just<br />
hope sheisnow at peace.’’<br />
Constable Milburn said “Although the<br />
search hasbeen suspended,this does not<br />
mean that work will cease on trying to<br />
locate Gaynor. Amissing persons<br />
investigation will continue andweare<br />
still keen to hear from anyone who may<br />
have seen Gaynor,orwho thinkstheymay<br />
have information that might help us<br />
establish what has happened to her.”<br />
