TIPS

Important!

Make only small changes to the

curve to preserve the natural look

of the image. Even small changes

in the curve can create major

changes in the photo, and strong

curves can cause posterization.

Did You Know?

A straight diagonal line spreads the

contrast evenly across the image.

When you change the curve, you

are redistributing the contrast in

the image. An S-curve adds

contrast to the midtones, while

removing that amount of contrast

in the highlights and shadows.

Try This!

You can use the Curves adjustment

layer in the Normal layer blend

mode to affect all the tones, hue,

and saturation at the same time.

You can also use the Curves

adjustment to make precise

adjustments to individual color

channels in an image.
