Note: To load the Artist Surfaces as
patterns, click the gear menu
button ( ), click Artist Surfaces,
and click Append in the dialog box.
The layer mask fills with the
canvas pattern, making the oil
painting look more traditional.
TIPS
More Options!
Once you apply a filter, the last
settings of that filter are saved and
the filter appears at the top of the
Filter menu. You can reapply the
filter with the same settings to the
same or another layer by clicking
Filter ➪ Oil Paint in this case, or
pressing Ô+F (Ctrl+F).
Did You Know?
Once you have applied a filter to a
layer and before you do any other
steps, you can fade the filter effect
by clicking Edit ➪ Fade Oil Paint in
this case, or by pressing Ô+Shift+F
(Ctrl+Shift+F). The fade option
disappears as soon as you perform
any other steps.
Important!
The Shine slider in the Oil Paint
filter reacts very quickly. Instead of
trying to slide it slowly to increase
or decrease the effect, click in the
box and press the up and down
arrows to increase or decrease the
amount.
