slider to slightly thin the lines.

Did You Know?
You can also make the lines thicker
and darker by clicking Filter ➪ Filter
Gallery. When the Filter Gallery
appears, select Artistic, and then
Smudge Stick. Reduce the stroke
length to 0.

You can get better results by
increasing the contrast in the
original image. After the grayscale
conversion (steps 5 and 6), click
Image ➪ Adjustments ➪ Levels.
Move both the Highlight and the
Shadow sliders slightly toward the
center to increase the contrast.

You can also create a pen and
ink drawing by selecting Filter ➪
Stylize ➪ Find Edges. Then click the
Threshold button ( ) in the
Adjustment panel. Slowly drag the
slider to the right to increase the
density of the lines or to the left to
create more white areas.
