TIPS

Important!

If the image contains noise,

sharpening can make the noise

more pronounced. You can reduce

the image noise before applying

any form of sharpening.

More Options!

After applying the High Pass filter,

you can use the Eraser tool ( )

and set the brush opacity in the

Options bar to 50%. Then brush

over edges that seem too sharp

in the image to reduce or soften

the effect.

Did You Know?

Sharpening sometimes shifts the

colors along the edges in the

image. When you use a duplicate

layer to sharpen your image, you

can change the layer’s blending

mode to Luminosity and avoid the

changed edge colors.
