Japan’s favourite ski resort is famous for deep powder and incredible skiing. Where better to eat
than three of Niseko’s best restaurants?
Rakuichi Soba
The thin buckwheat noodle is a Japanese speciality. Soba
is eaten everywhere, but nowhere is it quite as special
as in Sobadokoro Rakuichi. A small, family restaurant with
just a few seats, it’s home to soba master Chef Tatsuru
Rai, who transforms the humble noodle into something
incredibly special.
One of Japan’s most famous exports is sushi; this is one of the
best places to find it in Hokkaido. The
dedicated chefs are committed to
the omakase style of dining
that leaves the customer
in their trusted hands.
Karabina
A local favourite Izakaya or “stay-drink-place”, Karabina is only
a tiny venue but has a food and drink menu that will excite
even the most jaded palate. Try out classics such as smoked
mackerel or push out the boat and order the fried lotus flowers.
Sushi Hanayoshi
