There might be more than 17,000 islands that make up Indonesia but there can only be one Bali. A
tropical volcanic paradise, it’s one of the most desirable destinations on the planet.
Getting In & Around
Flying into Ngurah Rai International Airport is the entrance
point for most visitors. Exploring the island from there can
be done via bus, taxi, or the ubiquitous scooter favoured
by locals.
Things to Do & See
Beautiful beaches, incredible snorkelling, lush jungles,
thousands of temples, and exciting nightlife. Bali has it
all – if you have the time to experience it. Some cultural
highlights include the vast Bali Provincial State Museum
in Denpasar and the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary.
Street food is found everywhere, from the chaotic streets
of downtown Kuta to the quiet villages in the heart of the
island. However, that’s not all the island has to offer. There
are also fine dining experiences to be had in restaurants
like the exquisite Ankhusa Restaurant in Ubud.
Accommodation
Depending on your budget, spending time in Bali can
range from perfectly decent to absolute opulence. If you
want to experience Bali’s verdant jungle interior but crave
five-star luxury, then it doesn’t get much better than The
Kayon Jungle Resort.
Dining
The incredibly colourful assortment of dishes available
in Bali is extraordinary. Expect to encounter a range of
exciting foods, from the world-famous mie goreng stir
fried noodles to the local speciality of babi guling, or
“turning pig” – a succulent spit-roasted pork dish.
